DO THE RIGHT THING

2001

As the heat mounts, tempers flare and tensions rise, the lamp DO THE RIGHT THING makes a glowing tribute to the eponymous film by Spike Lee. Like an intravenous drip controlled by a blood-red power button, this lamp stands as a manifesto on energy saving. Pro-industrial in its aesthetic, techno-ethical in its use, light is dispersed sparingly, lighting up as required, extinguished as soon as it is unnecessary. Each element is separated, connected only by electric cables, and can thus be used in several situations. The light strip can be positioned as desired, thanks to a small stainless steel hook at its end. It can be fixed to the wall, placed on a desk or suspended from above. With a final punch and pressure on the switch, the light goes out or comes back on… light appearing and disappearing as necessary, but never excessively. YS
