At first sight, an automotive component freshly rolled off of the production line, RING is not the purely sculptural object it at first seems to be, as if conceived without rhyme nor reason. Matte black and metallic, this new-age table mat offers the dual-use of either accommodating two medium-sized pots or one large Dutch oven. Between its strength of presence and its true function, RING accumulates a wide range of uses. Once again an object is transformed, through an idea that is as useful as it is beautiful. YS
